1. Acceptance of these Terms

By registering for and using EssayForge, you fully agree to these Terms of Use.

2. About the platform

EssayForge is an educational platform that uses artificial intelligence to help students write, grade, and improve essays. It offers AI-assisted grading, learning paths, a reference bank, skill practice, and a community.

3. Registration and account

• You must provide true and current information when registering.
• You are responsible for the security of your account and password.
• Sharing your account with third parties is prohibited.
• Notify us immediately if your account is used without authorization.

4. Use of your essays

• Essays you submit remain yours.
• By submitting an essay you grant EssayForge a limited licence to process it and display the feedback inside the platform.
• Do not submit offensive content, plagiarism, or anything that infringes the rights of others.
• Essays may be shared voluntarily in the Community Library, with your express authorization.

5. What data we collect

This section is the complete list, item by item. It does not say "usage data" and leave the rest to your imagination: if we store it, it is written here.

• Account: your name and email as they come from sign-in, plus the account's region — which decides the language and the exams the platform shows you.
• Essays: the full text, the title, the exam you picked, the genre, how long you spent writing, the word and line counts, and the photograph of the page when you submit handwriting.
• Correction: the scores by criterion, the overall comment, the line-by-line comments, the grammar errors flagged, the writing habits detected, the predicted score, and the off-prompt warning.
• Progress: your average, total essays, level, XP, day streak, badges, which criterion is strongest and which is weakest, the trend, and the date of your last essay.
• Usage: the pages you open and how many corrections you requested this month, today, and this minute. That last count exists to stop automated bursts, and it is what temporarily blocks whoever goes over the limit.
• Messages: what you exchange with your class teacher and your conversations with the AI tutor are kept in your account.
• Payment: the subscription is processed by Stripe. We do NOT receive and do NOT store card numbers — what stays with us is the subscription identifier, the plan, and the expiry date.
• Acceptance of this document: when you accepted, which version, where the acceptance came from, and your browser identifier. It is what shows the acceptance happened.
• Security: when the platform detects an attempt to inject code or manipulate the AI, it records the type, the severity, the page, the browser identifier, and up to 500 characters of what was detected. The email is MASKED in that record.
• Region: only the country of your connection, as reported by the delivery network that serves the site (it infers it from the IP address, as it does for any website), and used only to pick your country's page, language and exam. We do NOT read and do NOT store your IP address: of the network's reply, only the country code is read.

Where this data goes: the essay text is sent to a third-party artificial intelligence service, which processes it solely to produce the correction; payment goes to Stripe; and the Google Ads tag records account creation and subscription. Beyond that, your data stays with us and with your school, if you are in a class.

You can delete your essays at any time in the platform, and request full deletion of your account and all associated data through Support, under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

6. Artificial intelligence

AI-generated corrections and feedback are guidance for learning. EssayForge does not guarantee that automated assessments exactly match the criteria of official examination boards. We recommend the supervision of a qualified teacher.

7. Plans and subscriptions

• Creating an account gives you 7 days of free access to the Essential plan; after that a subscription is required to continue. Features vary by plan.
• Prices and conditions are listed on the Plans page.
• Cancellation is done in the platform or through support.
• There is no refund for partially used periods, unless the law requires otherwise.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use bots or automated means to access the platform.
• Attempt to access other users' data without authorization.
• Post illegal, discriminatory, or harmful content in the Community.
• Manipulate, or try to manipulate, the grading and gamification systems.

9. Changes and termination

EssayForge may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Changes to these Terms will be announced in the platform.

10. Limitation of liability

EssayForge is not liable for outcomes in entrance exams or external assessments based solely on the platform's feedback.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, with jurisdiction in São Paulo/SP.
